Helicopters
Which helicopter flies your Bali charter: 4-seat class (up to 4 guests), 6-seat class and two-helicopter groups, with seat counts for R44, R66, H125, Bell 407.
For a group of 6, book one 6-seat helicopter at $3,300 an hour, which is $550 each. For 7 or 8 guests, book two helicopters that fly together or in turn, at $2,300 an hour each, which is $575 per person with four in each. Weights, the landing site and the pad decide the rest. This guide covers how to split the group, formation or separate flights, weights, cost per person, coordination, photo swaps and the order of the rides.

The 4-seat class carries up to 4 guests and the 6-seat class up to 6, at about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate. Anything larger needs two helicopters. These are hourly charter guide prices for the whole helicopter, pilot and fuel included.
| Group size | Best setup | Cost basis | Each, full seats |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 or 6 guests | One 6-seat helicopter | $3,300 per hour | $550 with 6 aboard, $660 with 5 |
| 7 guests | Two helicopters, for example 4 + 3 or a 6-seat and a 4-seat | About twice the 4-seat rate | A little above the 8-guest figure |
| 8 guests | Two 4-seat helicopters, 4 in each | Twice $2,300 per hour | $575 |
| 6 guests who want separate cabins | Two helicopters, 3 in each | About twice the 4-seat rate | More per person than one 6-seat helicopter |
Scenic flights and transfers use the same classes. The price page shows the rates by flight, and the helicopters page shows what each class is. Per-person prices assume every seat is filled.
For exactly six guests the 6-seat helicopter is the cheaper choice. At full seats it costs a little less per person than the 4-seat class, because the 6-seat rate is about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate for 1.5 times the seats. It means one pad, one landing site, one briefing and one pilot to coordinate. The trade-off is a full cabin: with six adults and bags, weight can become the limit on a hot day, and the middle seat of a rear bench usually has the smallest window view.
Two 4-seat helicopters cost about twice a single helicopter, but they give the group more room and more weight margin. Each cabin is lighter, the baggage allowance doubles and you can split by people rather than by seats: couples together, a family together, friends together. For seven or eight guests it is the only way to fly as one group. For six it is the choice if comfort matters more than cost. Our weight limits guide explains why a full 6-seat helicopter on a hot afternoon can leave little spare payload.
Three set-ups work, and the right one depends on the pad, the route and the pilots.
Two helicopters can fly the same route a short distance apart, but close formation, with rotors near each other, needs the pilots and air traffic control to agree on the day, and we cannot promise it. Ask for 'same route, same slot' and treat photos of the other aircraft in the air as a bonus.
Seven or eight guests need two aircraft free for the same slot, so ask early. In July, August and the Christmas weeks, send the request ten to fourteen days ahead.
Weight decides which guest sits in which helicopter. We ask for approximate weights for every guest and bag, and the operator balances the two aircraft, which may not match the friend groups you have in mind. The pilot has the final say on the pad and may move a guest between seats or between aircraft to balance the load.
Send the weights as a list on the first message: first name, rough kg, any child's age. Bags go in the baggage compartment of each helicopter, and soft bags only; hard suitcases do not fit. If the group carries a lot of luggage, a car can take it to the landing site, and we can add a private car to the pad from $50.
A table for common flights, in guide prices. The per-person figure assumes four guests in each 4-seat helicopter, so it also holds for two helicopters with eight guests.
| Flight | One 4-seat helicopter | Each, 4 aboard |
|---|---|---|
| Bukit flight, GWK to the Pandawa cliffs and Uluwatu Temple | $450 | $115 |
| Uluwatu and the cliffs | $650 | $165 |
| Half-hour flight, for example towards Mount Batur | $1,150 | $290 |
| Golden-hour flight | $750 | $190 |
| Charter by the hour | $2,300 | $575 |
Two helicopters double the middle column and leave the right-hand column unchanged when both are full. The 6-seat class is about 1.4 times the middle column. Sparkling wine is $120 and a ground photographer is $250.
If there is only one helicopter, or the pad takes one landing at a time, the group flies in turns. If there are two, you fly together. Either way, choose the order before the day.
| Option | How it works | Time it takes | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two helicopters at once | Both lift off in the same slot and land together | One slot for everyone | Twice the single-helicopter price |
| One helicopter, two turns | Group A flies, lands, then group B boards | About double the flying time, with a short wait | Two flights at the single-helicopter price each |
| 6-seat helicopter, one flight | Six fly together; extra guests wait or fly in a second slot | One slot for six | About 1.4 times the 4-seat price |
Who goes first? The guests with a tight schedule, the children, and the nervous guests who want to watch a landing before they board. See also VIP and corporate charter for larger programmes.
One person sends the date, the flight and the list of names and weights, and receives the quote.
Everyone comes to the same pad 20 minutes before take-off. If the group stays in different areas, tell us where, and we plan the car times to the pad.
A single deposit holds the slot. Payment details come with the quote, and nothing is paid on this website.
Together, in turns or on separate routes; see the table above.
We tell the lead contact if the forecast is poor, and offer a back-up slot.
Set up a shared album before you fly and have each helicopter upload to it afterwards, so everyone sees both views. Photos are taken through the window glass; follow our photo tips for settings and seats. If the group flies in turns, the first group can tell the second which side the best views are on.
For a group photo with the helicopters, hire a ground photographer ($250), and add a ground drone ($300) if you want the take-off filmed from the pad. A landing at a villa or a clifftop needs a clear flat area of roughly 25 to 30 metres per helicopter; read can a helicopter land at my villa before you plan a group arrival.
Up to 4 guests in the 4-seat class and up to 6 in the 6-seat class. A group of 7 or 8 flies in two helicopters. Weight, not seats alone, sets the limit; see weight limits and baggage.
A 6-seat helicopter charter is $3,300 per hour for the whole aircraft, which is $550 each with six aboard. Scenic flights are priced at about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate.
Two 4-seat helicopters at $2,300 an hour each, so $575 per person for the hour with four in each. A scenic flight costs the single-helicopter price twice.
They can fly the same route in the same slot. Close formation needs the agreement of both pilots and air traffic control on the day, and we cannot promise it.
Only if the site has room for both, a flat area of roughly 25 to 30 metres each, with the owner's agreement and the operator's clearance. One can land, then lift off, and the second land after it. See landing at a villa or hotel.
Seven or eight guests need two aircraft in the same slot, so ask early. Ten to fourteen days ahead is a sensible lead time in July, August and the Christmas weeks, and a few days in quiet months.
Tell us the date, the flight, the number of guests and their approximate weights. We reply the same day with the setup, the pad and one fixed price for the group. Nothing is paid on this site.
