Bali helicopter prices for 2026: scenic flights from $450, charter $2,300 per flight hour, island transfers by flight time. Whole-helicopter USD rates.

This Bali helicopter FAQ gives 40 straight answers on cost, weight, children, rain, landing at your villa and flying to Lombok or the Gilis. Flights start at $450 for the whole helicopter (12 minutes, up to 4 guests). Find your question below, or send the date and group size on WhatsApp and get a fixed quote the same day.
These are the questions that reach us most often on WhatsApp, grouped by topic: prices and payment, booking and changes, flights and routes, safety and weather, landing and venues, islands and transfers, and special occasions. Tap a question to open the answer.
Three facts frame every answer. Prices are for the whole helicopter, never per seat. Flights run by day only, from sunrise to sunset, and the pilot makes the final call on weather. Payment details come in the chat with your quote. If a word is new to you, the helicopter glossary explains it in plain English.
The price climbs with flight minutes: $450 for 12 minutes, $650 for 18, $1,150 for 30 and $2,300 for the 60-minute grand circle. Each figure covers the whole helicopter for up to 4 guests, and hourly charter is $2,300. The price page lists every flight, transfer and add-on.
Per helicopter. Pilot, fuel and aircraft sit inside one price, so a solo traveller and a group of four pay the same total. Split four ways, the 12-minute flight is $115 each, and with two guests it is $225 each. The full cost guide shows more splits.
Hardly. After dropping you off, the helicopter flies home empty, so a one-way fare pays for both legs. Airport to Ubud is $1,300 one-way and $1,600 for a same-day return with an hour of standby at the other end. The transfer routes list the figures place by place.
Aircraft, pilot, fuel, headsets, the safety briefing and the operator's aircraft insurance are inside every price. Extras are separate lines you can drop: a private car to the pad from $50, a ground photographer at $250, a bouquet at $60 and sparkling wine at $120. Landing fees charged by a venue are added at cost and shown in the quote.
Yes, a deposit holds your slot. The amount, the balance and the payment method arrive with the quote on WhatsApp, and nothing is paid on this website. Quotes are in US dollars, and at the guide rate the 12-minute flight is about Rp 8,000,000.
Slightly, because everyone wants the last hour of daylight. An 18-minute golden-hour flight is $750 against $650 at midday, and 30 minutes is $1,250 against $1,150. July–August and the Christmas weeks can add a little more. See how golden-hour flights are timed.
Message us on WhatsApp with the date, the number of guests and the area you are staying in. The same day we answer with the aircraft class, the pad, the route and one fixed price, and a deposit then holds the slot. Not sure what to ask for? The flight planner shows a price range in two minutes.
For a scenic flight on an ordinary date, two to four days ahead is comfortable, and a same-day flight is sometimes possible when an aircraft is free and daylight remains. In July–August and Christmas–New Year, book ten to fourteen days ahead. A flight that includes a landing needs longer, because the landing site has to be cleared first.
Tell us as early as you can, since an early request is easier to rearrange than one made on the day. The terms for changes and for your own cancellation are written in the quote before you pay, so read them and ask us to explain any line. If the pilot cancels for weather, the flight moves to the next suitable slot or the part not flown is refunded. Contact us with the new dates.
The date or a range of dates, the number of guests with rough weights, your hotel area and the flight you want. For a landing at a villa or venue, add a map pin and a photo of the spot. With those we pick the class (see helicopter classes) and the pad, then send one fixed price.
We write in English and Indonesian on WhatsApp. A voice call can follow in the chat when a plan is complicated, such as a private landing or a multi-leg flight. If someone in your group needs the safety briefing in another language, say so in your first message and we ask the operator what is possible. Our about page explains who does what.
Scenic flights run from 12 to 75 minutes in the air: the 12-minute Bukit flight is $450 and 75 minutes with a landing is $2,850. Add 15–20 minutes on the pad for check-in, the briefing and shutdown. The scenic tour list shows what each length covers.
For cliffs and temples, take the 12- or 18-minute Bukit flight past GWK and Uluwatu Temple (see the Uluwatu tour). For rice terraces and the Ayung river, take the 12-minute Ubud flight at $500. For a volcano and a crater lake, take 30 minutes over Mount Batur at $1,150. Which route to choose compares them side by side.
The 4-seat class takes up to 4 guests, the 6-seat class up to 6 at about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate, and 7–8 guests fly in two helicopters together. Hourly charter is $2,300 for the first class and $3,300 for the second. Group flights for 6 to 8 people covers larger parties.
From 07:00 to 10:00 the air is clearest and the volcanoes are free of cloud. The last hour before sunset (about 18:05 in June to 18:40 in late December) suits the coast and temples. Cloud builds over the mountains from late morning, most of all in the wet season. Read the best time for a helicopter flight in Bali for month-by-month advice.
Wear light clothes, flat closed shoes and sunglasses on a strap, and add a thin layer for early flights. Leave hats, scarves and long loose skirts at the hotel, because the rotor wash tugs at them on the pad. What to wear and bring has the full list.
Yes, with a phone or a small camera on a strap. Windows stay shut in flight, so keep the lens close to the glass without touching it, turn the flash off and record short clips as well as stills. A ground photographer for a landing is $250. More settings are in the photo tips.
Please do not plan on flying one from the helicopter: drones are not launched from the aircraft. Whether a small drone can ride in the hold depends on weight and the operator, so ask us before you pack it. Indonesia restricts drone use through permits and no-fly zones near airports and sacred sites, so check current rules and permits first. Filming of your arrival from the ground is an add-on at $300; see helicopter or drone.
All flying carries risk, which is why the operator matters. Every flight we book is flown by a licensed Indonesian air operator (an AOC holder) in daylight, and the pilot can refuse any flight when weather or load says no. For routes over water, ask about life jackets and flotation equipment. What to ask an operator lists the questions.
We plan and price the flight, and a licensed Indonesian air operator provides the aircraft and the pilot. Ask for the operator's name and air operator certificate number with your quote, and compare them with what the operator tells you. The glossary explains what an AOC is.
Not always. Some policies exclude helicopter flights or limit them, so read the wording or phone your insurer before you travel. The operator's aircraft insurance is in our price and is separate from your own cover. In a life-threatening emergency, call 112 and your insurer's 24-hour line first; see when a helicopter helps in a medical emergency.
There is no single figure. The combined weight of pilot, guests, bags and fuel decides, and Bali's heat tightens it, especially after midday. We ask for rough weights privately on WhatsApp and place you in a class that flies with a margin, which can mean the 6-seat class or two helicopters. Pack soft bags only; weight limits and baggage has the detail.
Usually yes, but seating, headsets and any minimum age or size are set by the operator, so we confirm with the operator before you pay. Send ages and weights when you write. A 12-minute flight over land, from $450, is the gentlest start. Flying with kids and seniors covers the rest.
The pilot decides on the day against limits for rain, cloud and visibility. From November to March, afternoon showers and hill cloud are common but mornings are usually fine, so aim to fly before noon. A flight that cannot go moves to the next suitable slot, or the part not flown is refunded. Wet-season flying explains what to expect.
Routes near a volcano change with its alert level and any ash advisory, and the area can close entirely. The operator and air traffic control decide, and we offer another route in clear air, a new date or a refund of the part not flown. We never land on a crater or its slopes. When the area is open, the Agung flight from the Bukit takes 20–30 min; see volcano flights and ash advisories.
Possibly, if the owner agrees and the operator clears the site. Send a map pin and photos of the lawn or terrace, and we confirm the exact landing spot before you pay. Landing never happens on public beaches, in temple grounds or in national parks. Landing at a villa or hotel explains the steps.
Plan on a flat, clear patch roughly 25–30 m across for a light helicopter, with no loose items, no overhead lines and no tall trees close by. A larger aircraft or a windy site can need more, and the pilot has the final say. A photo is usually enough for the operator to judge; see can a helicopter land at my villa.
Not on public beaches, in temple grounds or in national parks. A roof needs an approved, certified helipad structure, which few buildings have. A private beachfront lawn, a resort or a beach club can work with the owner's consent and the operator's clearance, as in a helicopter picnic landing.
Most south Bali flights lift off from a helipad on the Bukit peninsula near Ungasan, close to Uluwatu, Jimbaran and Nusa Dua. Airport, island and villa transfers can use other approved pads. The quote names the exact pad, and a private car to it starts at $50. The pick-up areas pages give car times from each part of the island.
Allow about a week so the owner, the operator and any set-up can be cleared. The flight is priced by minutes; a styled landing-site set-up is $350, standby is $300 per hour and a venue's landing fee is added at cost. Every line appears in the quote before you pay, and the price page lists the add-ons.
Yes, where an approved pad exists near you. Airport to Ubud takes 13–20 min in the air for $1,300, against 60–90 minutes by car, and airport to Uluwatu takes 9–14 min for $900. Prices are for the whole helicopter, and bags must be soft. See airport helicopter transfers.
Ngurah Rai Airport to Lombok International Airport is 35–50 min in the air, about 122 km, for $3,250 one-way for the whole helicopter. A scheduled flight takes about 40 minutes plus airport time. The Bali to Lombok helicopter page has the return price.
Yes, but landing sites on the Gilis are limited and need approval in advance, so we confirm the site before you pay. Sanur to Gili Trawangan is 30–40 min for $2,700 one-way, against about 2.5 hours by fast boat. The islands have no motorised vehicles, so you move on by horse cart, bike or on foot. Compare the options in helicopter vs fast boat.
Yes, at approved sites on the island, never on a public beach. The Bukit to Nusa Penida flight is 14–20 min for $1,300 one-way for the whole helicopter. If you only want the view, the 30-minute Nusa Penida tour at $1,150 shows the T-Rex cliff at Kelingking and Crystal Bay from the air.
Yes, but not as a simple hop. Labuan Bajo is about 520 km from Bali in a straight line, so the helicopter needs a fuel stop and the trip is built as several legs. It is priced by quote, and we do not land inside the national park. A scheduled flight takes about 1 hour 10 minutes; Bali to Komodo by helicopter explains the helicopter option.
Yes. Only you receive our messages, and the booking sits in a neutral thread like an ordinary scenic flight. Tell us if your partner ever uses your phone and we change how we write. The pilot is briefed on the place and the moment you plan to ask. Helicopter proposals shows the options.
There are three packages. Classic is $950 for an 18-minute golden-hour flight with a bouquet and sparkling wine, Landing is $2,500 for 45 minutes with a styled landing site and a photographer, and Grand is $3,400 for 60 minutes with a landing, a photographer and drone filming. Each price covers the whole helicopter, so friends on board cost nothing extra. See how to plan a helicopter proposal.
Yes, to a venue or villa with an approved landing area. The wedding arrival package from $1,700 covers a villa-to-venue flight and return, a ground photographer and sparkling wine. Tell us early about the dress and any bags, because the cabin and the weight limit are tight. Helicopter wedding arrivals has the steps.
Yes. The birthday package is $850: 18 minutes along the Bukit cliffs with a bouquet and sparkling wine, opened on the ground after landing. For a couple, a 30-minute golden-hour flight is $1,250. We write in a neutral message when it is a surprise. See birthday flights and honeymoon flights.
Not on Nyepi. Bali's Day of Silence normally falls in March, Ngurah Rai Airport closes for about 24 hours and no sightseeing flights run, so plan the days either side. Other dates are booked like any day, but Christmas–New Year fills first. Nyepi Day: can you fly explains what changes.
