Bali Airport to Ubud by Helicopter
Skip the Ubud traffic. Ngurah Rai to a pad near Ubud in 13–20 min, with the road time and the landing options laid out honestly.

A Bali airport helicopter transfer flies you from the Ngurah Rai area to your villa or resort in 13–20 min to Ubud and 9–14 min to Uluwatu, against 60 to 90 minutes by car to Ubud and 40 to 60 minutes to Uluwatu. The whole helicopter, up to 4 guests, starts at $1,300 one-way to Ubud and $900 to Uluwatu. Send your flight number, hotel and bags on WhatsApp and we confirm the pad, the time and the price.
Car times are typical daytime ranges and move with traffic. Helicopter times are airborne minutes only, so add 15–20 minutes at the pad for the briefing and shutdown. Prices are one-way for the whole helicopter, up to 4 guests.
| Airport to | Car, daytime | Helicopter in the air | One-way helicopter | Is the helicopter worth it? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jimbaran | 15–25 min | 7–11 min | $700 | Rarely. The car is as fast door to door. |
| Nusa Dua | 20–30 min | 8–12 min | $800 | Only for the experience or a group with a tight schedule. |
| Seminyak | 25–45 min | 7–12 min | $750 | A close call on a quiet road; useful at rush hour. |
| Sanur | 25–40 min | 9–14 min | $900 | Useful when you connect to a boat or a flight to the islands. |
| Uluwatu | 40–60 min | 9–14 min | $900 | Yes. It saves much of the drive and the Bukit road. |
| Canggu | 45–75 min | 8–13 min | $800 | Yes, above all when traffic is heavy. |
| Ubud | 60–90 min | 13–20 min | $1,300 | Yes. It saves between half an hour and an hour. |
| Tanah Lot | 60–90 min | 10–15 min | $950 | Yes, for a west-coast venue or villa. |
| Kintamani | 90–120 min | 20–30 min | $1,900 | Yes. A 1.5 to 2 hour drive becomes a short flight. |
| Amed | 2–3 hours | 25–35 min | $2,300 | Yes. A 2 to 3 hour drive becomes a short flight. |
The helicopter is not a cure for every transfer. Short hops in the south are quicker by car once you count the pad time. It earns its price where the road is long, slow or both. See how the prices are built.
Your airline and flight number, the scheduled landing time, how many guests and bags, and the name and area of your villa or resort. We check the landing site at your end first.
The quote names the take-off pad, which may be in the airport area or a short ride away on the Bukit, plus the landing site, the class and the price. A resort that has its own helipad is the fastest to clear; a private villa lawn needs the owner's agreement and can take a few days.
The deposit goes through the details in the quote; the website itself takes nothing.
After immigration and baggage you meet the person named in the quote and are taken to the helicopter. You get a WhatsApp contact for the day in case the plane is late.
The pilot weighs the bags, briefs you and fits headsets. An airport to villa helicopter flight ends at the villa or resort pad, or at the nearest approved pad with a car waiting.
Tell us your flight number and scheduled landing time rather than a pick-up time. We place the helicopter slot after the landing with a buffer for immigration, baggage and the walk to the meeting point, and we adjust with you on WhatsApp if the plane runs late.
The hard limit is daylight. Helicopters fly from sunrise to sunset only, and in Bali the sun sets at about 18:05 in June and about 18:40 in late December. Count backwards from there: the flight, 15–20 minutes at the pad, the transfer from arrivals, and your own time at immigration and baggage. A flight that lands in the late afternoon may still work. One that lands at dusk will not.
No helicopter takes off after sunset. For a late arrival, book a car for that night. The helicopter then suits the next morning, for example a villa-to-Lombok hop, when the air is also clearest.
Departures work the same way in reverse. Start from your airport check-in deadline, subtract the flight and the pad time, and leave half an hour spare. Wind or cloud can delay a flight, so for a plane you cannot miss, keep a car booked as a back-up.
The helicopter has to get back to its base. On a one-way transfer it flies home empty, and the price already includes that flight. So a single trip costs nearly what a round trip would, and a same-day return adds only the waiting time at $300 per hour.
| Transfer | One-way, whole helicopter | Same-day return, 1 hour wait | Per guest, one-way, 4 sharing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Airport to Uluwatu | $900 | $1,200 | $225 |
| Airport to Canggu | $800 | $1,100 | $200 |
| Airport to Ubud | $1,300 | $1,600 | $325 |
| Airport to Kintamani | $1,900 | $2,200 | $475 |
Guide prices. Longer waits are charged at the standby rate. A 6-seat helicopter costs about 1.4 times as much and splits among 6 guests.
For long road trips and island connections the saving grows. Pads outside the airport area are confirmed before you pay.
| Destination | Distance | Air time | One-way helicopter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tegalalang | 37 km | 15–20 min | from $1,350 |
| Padang Bai | 45 km | 15–25 min | from $1,550 |
| Candidasa | 52 km | 20–25 min | from $1,750 |
| Lovina | 67 km | 20–30 min | from $1,900 |
| Nusa Lembongan | 32 km | 13–20 min | from $1,300 |
| Nusa Penida | 34 km | 14–20 min | from $1,300 |
| Lombok International Airport | 122 km | 35–50 min | from $3,250 |
Straight-line distance and airborne minutes from the Ngurah Rai area. Each one-way price already includes the helicopter's empty flight home. The Lombok and Gili legs are on the Bali to Lombok route.
The cabin is made for people and the baggage hold is small. Soft bags go in; large hard suitcases usually do not. In Bali heat, weight is the limit, so we ask for approximate weights of every guest and bag, and the pilot weighs them at the pad.
Our guide to helicopter weight limits and baggage in Bali lists examples by group size.
After a long flight, the road to Ubud or the Bukit is the last thing most guests want. A short flight replaces it. Read the airport to Ubud and airport to Uluwatu pages.
Children are tired after a long flight, and the road to Ubud can take 60 to 90 minutes. The 6-seat class takes up to 6 guests and soft bags; tell us the ages and weights so we can plan the seats.
Guests who fly in for a wedding can reach the venue in time and fresh. For the couple's own arrival see helicopter weddings.
A meeting in the afternoon in Ubud or Canggu stays on schedule. For several flights on one day, VIP and corporate charter is better value.

Across the Lombok Strait in about 35–50 min instead of a half-day by boat or ferry.
Yes, from an approved pad in the airport area or on the Bukit, which the quote names. You clear immigration and baggage first, meet the person named in the quote and are taken to the helicopter. We confirm the exact pad and meeting point before you pay.
From $1,300 one-way for the whole helicopter, up to 4 guests. That is about $325 each for four people, and it includes the helicopter's flight back. A same-day return with a one-hour wait starts at about $1,600.
For Ubud, Uluwatu, Canggu and anything further north or east, yes, especially in traffic. Count 13–20 min in the air to Ubud against 60 to 90 minutes by car, plus 15–20 minutes at the pad. For Jimbaran, Nusa Dua or Seminyak the car is usually as fast.
Only at an approved pad or a private site where the owner agrees and the landing has been cleared. Many guests land at a hotel with its own helipad or at the nearest approved pad with a car waiting. Read how villa and hotel landings work.
We set the slot from the landing time you send and adjust it with you on WhatsApp. If the plane arrives after dusk, the helicopter cannot fly, because flights run from sunrise to sunset only. Use a car that night and the helicopter the next morning.
Soft bags only, within the weight limit, because the hold is small. Send us the number of bags and rough weights. Surplus or hard-shell luggage can follow by car.
Yes. A transfer from your villa to the airport pad works the same way, but start from your check-in deadline and leave a spare half hour. Keep a car booked as a back-up for any flight you cannot miss.
Send your flight number, arrival date, hotel area and the number of bags. We reply today with the pad, the aircraft, the pick-up time and a fixed price.
