Bali to Nusa Lembongan by Helicopter
Over the reef and the seaweed farms to a resort landing on Lembongan, with the Yellow Bridge to Ceningan in view. Site approved before you pay.

Staying in a Nusa Dua resort and looking for a helicopter? Nusa Lembongan is 12–20 min across the water, Nusa Penida 12–20 min, and the airport 8–12 min by air against 20–30 minutes by car. Prices are for the whole helicopter, up to 4 guests (6 in the larger class, 7–8 with two helicopters), so families and conference groups split the cost. Send your resort, date and group size on WhatsApp. Landing on a resort lawn needs the resort's agreement, and we confirm it before you pay.
Nusa Dua is a planned resort enclave on a calm, reef-sheltered stretch of Bali's south-east coast. Hotels stand shoulder to shoulder along the sand, grounds are landscaped and clean, and the gates and security are part of the setting. For helicopter guests that has two effects: the resort lawns are among the largest flat areas on the island, and every landing depends on the resort's agreement.
Guests who fly from here tend to be families spending a week, conference delegates with one free afternoon, and wedding or anniversary groups of six to eight. Many want one of two things. The first is the islands: Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Penida lie directly across the strait, and the Nusa Dua coast faces them. The second is the Bukit cliffs, only a few minutes south-west.
Measured from the Nusa Dua coast. The island rows are the ones guests ask about most.
| Destination | Distance | Air time | One-way helicopter |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nusa Lembongan | 28 km | 12–20 min | from $1,250 |
| Nusa Penida | 27 km | 12–20 min | from $1,250 |
| Padang Bai | 43 km | 15–25 min | from $1,550 |
| Candidasa | 49 km | 20–25 min | from $1,750 |
| Amed | 70 km | 25–30 min | from $2,100 |
| Ubud | 33 km | 13–20 min | from $1,300 |
| Ngurah Rai Airport | 9 km | 8–12 min | from $800 |
| Gili Trawangan | 102 km | 30–45 min | from $2,850 |
The price of a one-way flight already pays for the helicopter's empty return. To fly back the same day after an hour on the island, add $300: about $1,550 in total for Lembongan.
Boat and car times are rough daytime figures and vary with traffic and the sea.
| From Nusa Dua to | By road or sea | By helicopter |
|---|---|---|
| Ngurah Rai Airport | 20–30 min by car | 8–12 min |
| Nusa Lembongan | drive to Sanur, then a 30–45 min fast boat | 12–20 min |
| Nusa Penida | drive to Sanur, then a 30–45 min fast boat | 12–20 min |
| Candidasa | about 1.5–2 h by car | 20–25 min |
| Amed | about 2.5–3 h by car | 25–30 min |
| Gili Trawangan | drive to the harbour, then about 2.5 h by fast boat | 30–45 min |
Helicopter times are airborne only; the briefing and shutdown come on top. For the island routes in detail see Bali to Nusa Lembongan and helicopter Nusa Penida.
Over the strait to Mushroom Bay, the seaweed farms and the Yellow Bridge side. Landing sites on the island are limited and approved in advance.
Kelingking, Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach from above. Nusa Dua is 27 km from the island, so the crossing is short.
The 12-minute loop is the quick option for a family with a free morning: GWK, the Pandawa cliffs and Uluwatu Temple.
For conference groups and VIPs: pick-up on a venue lawn, a timed itinerary, standby at $300 per hour.
Weight, not just seat count, decides what flies. Give us rough weights and the number of bags when you ask.
| Group | Aircraft | Hourly charter guide | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–4 guests | 4-seat class | $2,300 per hour | Couples, a family of four, a small team |
| 5–6 guests | 6-seat class (about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate) | $3,300 per hour | Larger families, a wedding party, an executive team |
| 7–8 guests | Two helicopters flown together | two aircraft, priced together | Groups that want to arrive in one formation |
The helicopter that flies on the day is confirmed with the quote. More on aircraft in helicopter types and on group trips in group flights for 6 to 8 people.
A big lawn is not the same as an approved pad. Inside the enclave the question is who says yes. The resort's management has to agree, security has to be told, and neighbouring hotels will hear the rotor, so landing times are best kept short and away from busy hours.
What the operator checks is the usual list: a clear flat area of roughly 25–30 m, no loose items, no overhead lines or tall trees on the approach, and a way to keep guests behind a line while the helicopter arrives and departs. Event lawns and convention car parks are often easier than pool terraces. We never land on the beach: the sand in front of the resorts is public, and the lagoon is a swimming area.
If the resort says no, the fallback is the Bukit pad, 20–40 minutes away by car, and we can book a private car to the pad from $50. The general rules are in landing at a villa or hotel.
Nusa Dua's beaches face east, so the sun rises over the water and the strait lies in front of you. Fly the islands between 07:00 and 10:00: the light is behind you as you cross to Lembongan and Penida, the water is clear, and on a clear morning Mount Agung can show on the horizon. For golden hour, the cliffs on the Bukit side are better, since sunset falls behind the resorts rather than over the water.
Dry-season months, April to October, are the clearest. From November to March, showers drift in later in the day, so we plan mornings and keep a back-up day. Peak weeks are July, August and the Christmas to New Year period; ask a week or more ahead for the best slots. The best time for a helicopter flight in Bali guide has more detail.
Say whether you want the islands, the cliffs or an event arrival, and add rough weights.
The quote names the pad or lawn, the aircraft class, the lift-off time and a price for the whole helicopter. Compare options in the route planner.
Payment details come with the quote. Nothing is paid on this website, whatever the group size.
If conditions are wrong we reschedule or refund the part not flown.
Possibly, if the resort's management agrees and the operator clears a flat area of roughly 25–30 m with no overhead lines or tall trees close by. We confirm the site before you pay. We never land on the public beach in front of the resorts.
About 12–20 min in the air, starting at $1,250 one-way for the whole helicopter, about $315 each for four guests. The price includes the helicopter's flight back empty.
Scenic flights start at $450 for 12 minutes and $1,150 for 30 minutes, for up to 4 guests. Groups of 5–6 use the larger class at about 1.4 times the 4-seat rate; 7–8 guests fly in two helicopters. See the price page.
Most south Bali scenic flights lift off from a pad on the Bukit near Ungasan, roughly 20–40 minutes from Nusa Dua by car. Resort and airport transfers can use other approved pads. The quote names the exact pad.
Usually yes, and the operator sets any minimum age or size. Tell us ages and weights when you ask, since weight decides the aircraft class. A short flight such as the 12-minute loop suits younger children best.
In the air it takes 12–20 min. By road and sea you drive to Sanur and take a 30–45 minute fast boat, plus the wait at the beach. The helicopter costs far more; it is for guests who value time or have small children and luggage.
Give us the date, your resort and the number of guests. We reply the same day with the pad, the aircraft and one fixed price for the whole helicopter.
