12-Minute Helicopter Tour Price: Whole Helicopter and Each Guest

One price covers the aircraft, the pilot and the fuel. It does not rise with the number of guests until you outgrow the 4-seat class, so every extra person lowers the cost per seat.

The flight

Bali Helicopter Tour of 12 Minutes, Landmark by Landmark

The pilot sets the exact line on the day from wind, air traffic and haze. Minute marks are approximate and assume a lift-off in the Ungasan area on the Bukit.

  • Lift-off on the Bukit plateauAfter a short briefing and a headset fit, the helicopter climbs from the pad. Below you are dry scrub, villa roofs and the limestone ridge that runs the length of the peninsula.
  • Garuda Wisnu KencanaThe 121 m statue of Vishnu riding Garuda stands at Ungasan, close to the pad, so it comes first. The pilot circles it so both sides of the cabin see it. People on the plaza look like dots beside the base, and that is the best scale check you will get.
  • Pandawa BeachThe helicopter drops toward the south coast. Pandawa lies in a cleft cut through white limestone, with the five Pandava statues set in niches along the cliff road. The strip of pale sand, with its cafés and sunshades, is easy to pick out.
  • Melasti and the cliff coastTurn west and the cliffs rise in steep white steps. The sea is on your left. Over reef shelves the water turns a flat turquoise, and you can watch swell lines break far below.
  • Uluwatu TemplePura Luhur Uluwatu stands on a sea cliff about 70 m high. From the air you see the whole temple wall, the clifftop path and the sheer drop that the car park hides. The pilot slows and turns here. This is the turn-around point.
  • Back across the plateauThe return cuts inland over villa roofs and cleared building plots to the pad. Shutdown and the walk off the pad add a few minutes on the ground, which are not part of the 12.

Four Kinds of Guest Who Pick the 12-Minute Flight

First-timers testing the idea

Not sure you will like a helicopter? Twelve minutes is long enough to find out and short enough to enjoy, and you finish with the Bukit's best-known view already seen.

Families with a narrow window

A free late morning between a beach club and lunch is all you need. The pad is on the Bukit, so there is no cross-island drive. Tell us the children's ages and rough weights when you ask.

Couples adding a surprise

A short flight fits into a day that already has plans. Add sparkling wine for $120 on landing. For a flight that ends at sunset read the golden-hour page instead.

Guests who skipped the Uluwatu queue

The temple and its cliff are an hour from most hotels by road. The helicopter reaches them from Ungasan in minutes and turns for home before the traffic starts.

Timing and photos

Best Time of Day, Season and Photos on the Bukit

The clearest air is between 07:00 and 10:00, before haze and cloud build. If the turquoise colour of the shallows matters most to you, ask for a slot around 10:00, when the sun is higher and the water shows more colour. Both work for a 12-minute flight. For warm evening light choose a golden-hour flight instead; that one is built around sunset and starts about 20–30 minutes before it.

The dry season, April to October, gives the clearest air. From November to March showers come in the afternoon, but mornings are usually fine, so the 12-minute flight is easy to move to an earlier slot. July, August and Christmas to New Year are the busiest weeks.

Photo tip for the GWK statue

Shoot during the first circle, when the pilot is closest and the light on the statue's face is still even. Photos are taken through the window glass, so keep the phone near but not touching it and wear a dark top to cut reflections. More in our photography tips.

Nothing flies on Nyepi, Bali's Day of Silence, when the whole island including the airport stops for a day. The date moves each year and falls in March or early April.

Booking

How to Book the 12-Minute Flight

Send date, guests and hotel area

A line on WhatsApp is enough: day, number of guests, the area you stay in. If you know weights, add them; weight limits how many seats we can fill in Bali heat.

We reply the same day

You get the aircraft class, the exact pad on the Bukit, the meeting time and a fixed price. We reply between 08:00 and 20:00 WITA.

A deposit holds the slot

Pay the deposit using the details in the quote. Nothing is charged through this website.

Arrive 20 minutes early

The pilot weighs soft bags, briefs you on the pad and fits headsets. The flight itself is operated by a licensed Indonesian air operator, and you can ask for its name and licence number with the quote.

Before you fly

What to Bring for a 12-Minute Flight

  • Wear flat shoes and light clothes. Rotor wash on the pad takes hats, scarves and loose sunglasses.
  • Use a phone strap. Anything loose is a risk near the rotor. Keep it on your wrist or in a zipped pocket until you are seated.
  • Bring soft bags only. The hold is small. Beach bags and day packs are fine; hard suitcases are not.
  • Tell us your weights. They decide the aircraft class. Four adults may need the 6-seat class, and we say so in the quote.
  • Plan the ride to the pad. From Ubud or Canggu allow roughly 1.25 to 2 hours by car. A private car is available from $50.
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is a 12-minute helicopter tour in Bali?

$450 for the whole helicopter, about Rp 8,000,000. Up to 4 guests share that one price, so four pay $115 each and two pay $225 each. The 6-seat class costs about 1.4 times as much, and the exact figure comes with the quote.

What do I actually see in 12 minutes?

A GWK helicopter flight of 12 minutes shows the statue first, then the Pandawa and Melasti cliffs on the south coast, then Uluwatu Temple on its cliff at the turn-around point. The return crosses the Bukit plateau. Padang Padang and Bingin belong to the 18-minute Uluwatu flight.

Can the helicopter land at GWK or Uluwatu Temple?

No. Landings happen only at approved sites such as airports, hotel helipads and private land where the owner agrees. We do not offer landings in temple grounds, on public beaches or at tourist sites like the GWK park. This tour starts and ends at the pad.

Is 12 minutes enough, or should I book 18?

Twelve minutes gives one pass over each of the three landmarks. If surfing, the Padang Padang cove and a longer cliff run matter to you, take the 18 minutes at $650. If you mainly want to try a helicopter and see the statue and the temple, 12 is enough.

Where does the helicopter take off from?

From a helipad on the Bukit, in the Ungasan area near the GWK statue. The quote names the pad and the meeting time. From Canggu allow about 1.25–2 hours by car, and from the airport about 40–60 minutes to Uluwatu. See the Ungasan pick-up page for the area.

Do you fly on Nyepi, or when the weather is bad?

Nothing flies on Nyepi, the Day of Silence. On other days the pilot decides on wind, cloud and visibility. If a flight is unsafe we move it to the next suitable slot or refund the part that was not flown.

How far ahead should I book?

On an ordinary date, two to four days ahead is enough. In July, August and Christmas to New Year ask one to two weeks ahead, especially for a morning slot. See the best-time guide for months and hours.
