Landing rules

What Is Realistic on an Island

Islands rarely have a ready helipad. Where a resort, a private estate or an airport can receive a helicopter we use it; where no approved site exists we fly over the sights without landing, or land on the nearest mainland coast and use a short boat. We confirm the landing option before you pay and write it in the quote.

Weather decides the details. Crossings are flown in the calmer morning hours when possible, and a strong afternoon breeze can add minutes or move a flight. See the best time to fly.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which islands can you reach by helicopter from Bali?

Nusa Penida, Nusa Lembongan, Lombok and the Gili Islands as direct flights, and Komodo, East Java, Sumba and Sumbawa as multi-leg flights priced by quote.

Can the helicopter land on Nusa Penida?

Only at an approved site, arranged in advance. Standard flights fly over Kelingking and the cliffs without landing; see Nusa Penida by helicopter.

How long to Lombok?

About 35–50 min in the air from the airport area to Lombok International Airport.

Is Komodo possible in one day?

It is a long, multi-leg flight with fuel stops, usually planned over two days. See the Komodo reality check.

Do the islands need permits?

Landing at private sites needs the owner's agreement and the operator's clearance. Protected areas and national parks do not allow landing.
