Uluwatu Helicopter Tour
18 minutes along the Bukit cliffs: Uluwatu Temple, the Suluban and Padang Padang surf breaks, Bingin and Balangan, then Jimbaran Bay.

Looking for a helicopter in Uluwatu? The 18-minute flight follows the white limestone cliffs to Uluwatu Temple on its 70 m sea cliff, from $650 for the whole helicopter, up to 4 guests. Golden-hour flights that end at sunset start at $750. The Bukit pad is a short drive from most Uluwatu villas. Send your date, guests and villa area on WhatsApp and we reply the same day with the pad, the aircraft and a fixed price.
Uluwatu is the one area where the thing you came to see is the flight itself. The Bukit plateau ends in a wall of white limestone, and from the air the whole line is visible at once: the surf breaks at Suluban, Bingin and Padang Padang, the narrow beaches pinned under the cliff, and Uluwatu Temple on its 70 m perch with the sea breaking far below.
That is why Uluwatu enquiries lean romantic and visual: proposals, anniversaries, honeymoons, and wedding parties staying in clifftop villas. Others arrive for a specific shot, such as the temple at sunset with the surf in front of it. Most Uluwatu villas are on the plateau, which also means you are close to the Bukit departure pad; the car is a short ride along the Bukit road, roughly 15–30 minutes, longer in the evening rush.
A daytime run along the cliffs to the temple. Choose 07:30 for flat light and few visitors on the paths below.
Lift-off about 20–30 minutes before the sun touches the horizon. The cliff face turns copper, and the surf lines show up as white threads.
Ask in the air as the temple comes into view, then land to sparkling wine and a bouquet. A landing version with a photographer is also offered.
Land on an approved plateau site with a set table and cushions. The site is agreed days before, and the dinner set-up is a separate add-on from $450.
Sunset in June falls at about 18:05, so lift-off is around 17:40. In late December, when sunset is about 18:40, everything shifts roughly 35 minutes later.
Uluwatu has a real advantage over Seminyak: space. The plateau is broad and dry, and many villa and wedding venues sit on wide lawns or terraces with nothing tall beside them. That makes an approved landing at your own property more realistic here than in most of south Bali.
Pilots keep well back from the edge. Wind off the sea rolls up a cliff face and can turn gusty near the rim, so the pad sits some distance inland, often behind the first row of villas. Loose gravel or sand on the plateau is lifted by rotor wash, so the ground may need wetting down or sweeping first.
We never land in temple grounds, on public beaches or in national parks. For the wider rules, see landing at a villa or hotel. If you want a set-up with flowers or a table, the helicopter wedding service covers venue arrivals.

Evening traffic on the Bukit roads is slower, particularly when sunset crowds head for the temple. Airport arrivals can be priced from $900; see airport to Uluwatu by helicopter.
Uluwatu faces the Indian Ocean, so the last hour before sunset is the signature slot: sunset is about 18:05 in June and 18:40 in late December, and the light on the limestone is warm for the whole hour. Mornings are the quiet alternative: the air is clearer and the cliff paths below are emptier.
Dry-season evenings, April to October, run clear for weeks at a time. In the wet season afternoon showers drift over the Bukit, so we keep a back-up day for golden-hour flights. July, August and Christmas week are the busiest, and sunset slots go first.

Often yes, if there is a cleared flat area of roughly 25–30 m, no overhead lines or tall trees close by, and the owner and the operator agree. A cliff-edge terrace is not suitable; the pad sits some distance inland. We confirm the site before you pay.
No. We do not land in temple grounds, and the helicopter stays well away from the temple area. You see the temple on its 70 m cliff from the air, not from the ground.
