Helicopter Wedding Arrival
The bride and groom arrive by helicopter at the ceremony site, with a photographer on the ground and sparkling wine. Landing site confirmed before you pay.
To plan a helicopter wedding in Bali, fix five things: an approved landing site at the venue, an arrival that lands in daylight, a plan for rotor wash and noise, positions for the photographers and a weather back-up. The wedding arrival package is $1,700 for the whole helicopter, with about 35 minutes of aircraft time, a ground photographer and sparkling wine. This guide runs from the first message to the minute the rotor stops, and says what each choice changes in the price.

Start as soon as the date and the venue are fixed. The longer the lead, the easier the site approval, and July, August and the Christmas weeks fill first.
These are rules of thumb for a light helicopter. The operator makes the final call and may ask for more room in a strong wind.
| Requirement | What the operator looks for | Who handles it |
|---|---|---|
| Landing area | A clear, flat area roughly 25–30 m across, on firm ground such as short grass, paving or packed earth | The venue and planner mark it; we check it from photos |
| Surroundings | No overhead lines, masts or tall trees close, and an open path in or out | The operator, from your pin and photos |
| Loose items | Nothing light inside or beside the area: chairs, arches, flower stands, napkins, balloons | The planner clears and weights down decor |
| Consent | Written agreement of the owner or venue management | You or your planner; we pass it to the operator |
| Neighbours and village | A note to nearby homes with the time; a check for ceremonies on your date | Planner or venue manager |
| Not possible | Public beaches, temple grounds and national parks | Choose another site; we propose alternatives |
The operator clears a private site, and we confirm the exact spot before you pay. For the general rules see can a helicopter land at my villa and the villa and hotel landing service.
The first minute decides how the photographs look. While the rotor turns, the wind on the ground is strong, and it falls away as the blades slow after shutdown. Plan the first portrait for the stillness after that, not for the moment of touchdown.
A light helicopter is loud for the minute it comes in and again when it lifts off. With the engine shut down, the site is quiet. So the rule is simple: the helicopter should be silent before the first word of the vows.
Plan the arrival well before the ceremony, with a gap of several minutes for the rotor to stop and the couple to compose themselves. If the helicopter waits for an exit flight on standby ($300 per hour), it stays shut down through the ceremony. The take-off is the next loud moment, so place it after the last song or during the reception walk-in, and tell the band, the DJ and the celebrant the time.
For guests, the best view of the arrival is from the side, behind the line the pilot sets, and not under the approach path. Place chairs and the aisle away from that path. Elderly guests and small children should stand back, and anyone who dislikes loud noise should have a seat far from the pad; our guide for kids and seniors covers headsets and comfort. Walk the site with the operator's instructions before you fix the seating plan, since the final approach depends on the wind on the day.
Everyone who films the arrival stays outside the landing area and behind the pilot's line. The positions below are agreed at the run-sheet meeting.
| Who | Where | What they capture | Rule |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ground photographer in the package ($250) | Beside the landing site, at the distance the pilot sets | The descent, the landing, the first steps | Never walks toward the aircraft until the rotor has stopped |
| Your own wedding videographer | A wide position at the edge of the site, outside the area | The approach and the guests' faces | Tripods and lights stay out of the landing area; tell the pilot's crew in advance |
| Guests with phones | Behind the guests' line | Reactions and the landing | No one steps forward until the crew signal |
| Drone filming from the ground ($300) | Operated from the ground by a drone operator you or we arrange | The overhead view of the site | Check current rules and permits; expect the drone to be on the ground while the helicopter lands and lifts off |
| In the cabin | No second camera person | A phone on a wrist strap, if the couple wish | Windows stay shut in flight |

The packages use the same rates as the price page. A longer flight than a normal villa-to-venue hop is charged by the minute. The helicopter wedding service page shows the package at a glance.
An elopement needs the same site checks as a wedding with far fewer moving parts. Two guests fly to a private clifftop or lawn where the celebrant and the photographer are waiting, the helicopter shuts down, and the ceremony takes place in the quiet afterward. A late-afternoon slot gives soft light, and a morning slot gives calm air.
We arrange the flight and the approved landing. The celebrant, any permits and the legal paperwork stay with you or your wedding planner. The site and a back-up day are agreed before you pay. For a honeymoon flight afterwards, the honeymoon flight page shows the options from $1,150.
The pilot decides whether the flight goes. The ceremony time is the thing that cannot move, so the plan has to protect it. Agree three things with your planner before the day: who calls the pilot at what time for a go or no-go, where the car waits, and whether a portrait flight the next morning replaces the arrival if the wedding-day flight cannot go.
In the dry season, April to October, mornings and late afternoons are the most reliable. In the wet season, November to March, choose a morning or early-afternoon ceremony and read helicopter tours in the wet season. Clifftop venues add wind, so ask for the back-up landing site on the same day. Flights end at sunset, about 18:05 in June and 18:40 in late December, so an evening ceremony needs the arrival earlier in the day; the best-time guide shows the daylight window.
The wedding arrival package is $1,700 for the whole helicopter, up to 4 guests. It covers about 35 minutes of aircraft time, a ground photographer and sparkling wine. A styled set-up is $350 extra and standby is $300 per hour.
As soon as the date and venue are fixed. A private site can take several days to clear, and July, August and the Christmas weeks fill first. Send the venue name and a few photos and we say what the site needs.
No. Landing is limited to approved sites: hotel or resort pads, large flat lawns where the owner agrees, and private land the operator has cleared. Public beaches, temple grounds and national parks are not available. We confirm the exact spot before you pay.
Only if it is running. Arrive well before the vows, and shut down the aircraft; on standby it is silent. The take-off is the next loud moment, so time it before the reception music or after the last song.
Outside the landing area and behind the line the pilot sets. The package photographer works on the ground, and there is no room in the cabin for a second camera person. Drone filming needs current permits and stays grounded during landing and take-off.
The pilot makes the call. Keep a car as the back-up, because the ceremony time does not move. We refund the part not flown, or move a portrait flight to the next morning.
Yes. We arrange the flight and an approved landing at a private clifftop or lawn. The celebrant, permits and legal paperwork are yours or your planner's to arrange.
Tell us the date, the venue, the ceremony time and where the couple get ready. We reply the same day with the pad, the landing site check, the aircraft and one fixed price. Nothing is paid on this site.
